摘要: OBJECTIVE TEST METHODS FOR WAVEGUIDE AUDIO SYNTHESIS Steve G. Wood School of Technology Master Science Acoustic Physical Modeling has emerged as a newer musical synthesis technique. The most common form physical modeling in both industry and academia is digital waveguide synthesis. Commercially available for the past thirteen years, top synthesizer manufacturers have chosen to include their line models. In area audio quality testing, tests traditionally been group listening tests. While these are subjective can be expensive timeconsuming, results validated by groups’ proper standards. Research conducted evaluate objective testing procedures order find alternative methods quality. This research resulted various standards approved International Telecommunication Union. Tests proven reliability test areas telephony well codecs, including MP3. this determine whether measurements used reliably acoustic synthesis, specifically Both Perceptual Audio Quality Measure (PAQM) Noise-To-Mask Ratio (NMR) will performed on Karplus-Strong algorithm Digital Waveguide A corresponding based Mean Opinion Score (MOS) also conducted, from compared. show that more work needs done area, neither PAQM nor NMR algorithms sufficiently matched output Recommendations made future work.
