摘要: Understanding the mating system of a tree species is important in genetic conservation and breeding strategies because it affects inbreeding diversity descendant populations. Araucaria angustifolia (Bert.) O. Kuntze mainly dioecious that reproduces through outcrossing. However, some monoecious trees have been identified they may reproduce self-fertilization. The objective this study was to confirm expected relatedness full-sibs outcrossed hand-pollinated progenies female seed trees, self-sibs hand self-pollinated investigate open-pollinated A. trees. To do this, eight microsatellite loci were used genotype hand- progenies. Our results show are true from selfed self-sibs, which confirms hand-pollination method used. Open-pollinated reproduced only by outcrossing, generating with mixture full- half-sibs. Monoecious xenogamy, mixtures full-sibs, half-sibs self-half-sibs. We also found an increase effective number pollen donors ( $$ N_{\text{ep}} $$ ) would lead total alleles K within suggest monecious limited potential modify structure production due very low estimated selfing rate these rare occurrence natural
