摘要: Typographical errors caused by transposing two letters in a word (e.g., jugde for JUDGE) are often readily misperceived as the words themselves. This phenomenon, known transposed letter (TL) effect, has been used widely studying position coding reading. Previous research Lee and Taft (2009) found no TL effects Korean, nonlinear script, causing to argue that processing of information varies function orthographic structure language. In particular, suggested that, given Korean syllables, nonwords should not activate their base and, therefore, exist Korean. The purpose present was evaluate this claim using masked priming, lexical decision task (LDT), more conventional method evaluating automatic than simple, unprimed LDT Taft. primes were generated between syllables. Mirroring manipulations Taft, there three types primes: onset1-onset2 transpositions, coda1-coda2 coda1-onset2 transpositions. Replacement created replacing with other control each condition. As predicted, facilitation emerged, however, significant inhibition following primes, Taft’s analysis cannot explain. Transposed Letter Effects 3
