摘要: Background: Ethanol consumption might induce hepatic apoptosis and cause liver damage. The study was to investigate the effects of different doses β-carotene supplementation on antioxidant capacity in chronic ethanol-fed rats. Methods: Rats were divided into 6 groups: C (control liquid diet), CLB diet with at 0.52 mg/kg body weight (BW)/day], CHB 2.6 BW/day), E (ethanol ELB EHB BW/day). After 12 weeks, rats sacrificed blood samples collected for analysis. Results: Lipid peroxidation cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) expression had increased, Fas ligand, caspase-8, c, caspase-9, -3 expressions significantly increased group. However, lipid CYP2E1, lower Bcl-xL higher tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α level, peroxidation, c Bcl-2 Conclusions: results suggest that ethanol treatment causes oxidative stress leading injury, (0.52 BW/day) can prevent ethanol-induced damage by decreasing inhibiting liver.
