摘要: Knowledge about the factors shaping rumen microbiota in wild animals is limited. Therefore, aim of this study was to compare from three cervid species moose ( Alces alces , n = 5), red deer Cervus elaphus 4) and roe Capreolus capreolus 12), sharing same habitat. Using deep 16S rRNA gene sequencing, we found that largest had highest number unique Operational Taxonomic Units (OTUs). Furthermore, moose, shared more microbiota, compared with smallest species, deer, Firmicutes Euryarchaeota being significantly overrepresented for microbiota. These differences could not be explained by diet or range. The largely range, there are no systematic diet. We therefore believe physiology can one main contributing observed distribution species.
