摘要: Many genes are functionally equivalent between flies and humans. In addition, the same, or similar, mutations cause disease in both species. fact, nearly three-fourths of all human have related sequences Drosophila. The fly has a relatively small genome, made up about 13,600 four pairs chromosomes. However, despite dramatic differences size apparent complexity humans flies--we less than twice as many fly--our genome is estimated to be only 20,000-25,000 contained 23 Therefore, fly's perceived simplicity, our complexity, genetic makeup may not that different. Its versatility for manipulation convenience unraveling fundamental biological processes continue guarantee place spotlight basis therapeutic treatments eye diseases.
