Neutral points on the boundary of the closed magnetosphere

摘要: Theoretical studies of a field-free plasma incident upon magnetic dipole lead to closed magnetosphere with two neutral points in the noon meridian, at latitude ± 70°–75° and geocentric distance approximately 10 RE. The position respect axis is not greatly affected by angle incidence solar wind. Although field magnitude near only fraction field, direction seen reverse on opposite sides point. Near boundary parallel tends point towards Northern hemisphere.
