Accelerator mass spectrometry of ultra-small samples with applications in the biosciences

摘要: Abstract An overview is presented covering the biological accelerator mass spectrometry activities at Uppsala University. The research utilizes University Tandem laboratory facilities, including a 5 MV Pelletron tandem and two stable isotope ratio spectrometers. In addition, dedicated sample preparation for samples with natural activity in use, as well another specifically 14 C-labeled samples. A variety of ongoing projects are described presented. Examples are: (1) Ultra-small AMS. We routinely analyze masses 5–10 μg C range. Data regarding method, (2) bomb peak dating ultra-small long term project where purified cell-specific DNA from various part human body heart brain analyzed aim extracting regeneration rate cells, (3) biopsies, atherosclerosis related plaques average built up time surgically removed carotid have been measured correlated to data level insulin blood, (4) addition standard microdosing type measurements using small pharmaceutical drugs, pre-clinical pharmacokinetic macromolecular drug candidate discussed.
