摘要: Effective medication reconciliation is critical in reducing the risk of preventable adverse drug events. Medical trainees are often responsible for on admission, transfer and discharge most vulnerable patients; therefore, it important that educated this aspect quality care. We conducted a systematic review using MEDLINE EMBASE databases to identify education initiatives targeted at improving trainee skill knowledge carrying out reconciliation. Studies published English or French between July 1980 2013, where primary focus article was role medical conducting reconciliation, trainee-specific data reported, were included. Included articles must have reported data. Given anticipated heterogeneity array outcomes, we unable employ specific tool assessing bias across studies. Seven studies met pre-specified eligibility criteria, indicating lack towards experience. Four described an intervention students completing internal medicine clerkship, while remaining 3 implemented among residents. Although no two interventions same, 5 7 included experiential component. Varying success achieved with interventions. While some noted improved competence and/or confidence amongst trainees, namely undergraduate students, others little effect resulting from intervention.
