摘要: Ecological trade-offs between species are often invoked to explain coexistence in ecological communities. However, few mathematical models have been proposed for which conditions can be characterized explicitly terms of a trade-off. Here we present model plant community allows such characterization. In the compete sites where each site has fixed stress condition. Species differ both tolerance and competitive ability. Stress is quantified as fraction with low enough allow establishment. Competitive ability propensity win competition empty sites. We derive deterministic, discrete-time dynamical system abundances. prove under coexist stable equilibrium. show that graphically, clearly illustrating trade-off compare our recently proposed, continuous-time tolerance-fecundity communities, this special case version model.
