摘要: Despite behavioral mimicry of ameloblastoma (AB) and basal cell carcinoma (BCC), they are classified at 2 extremes within pertinent WHO classifications with respect to benign malignant designation. This study aims appraise the current allocation AB in classification through an immunohistochemical comparison some aspects behavior BCC. Sections from retrospectively retrieved formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue blocks (n = 37) BCC 34) were comparatively examined for expression Ki-67, Bcl-2, MMP-2, MMP-9, CD31, D2-40 monoclonal antibodies. No statistically significant differences between tumors found regarding immunoexpressions Bcl-2 (P .252), CD31 microvessel density .895), lymphatic vessel .642), MMP-9 stromal .083). MMP-2 was significantly higher epithelial regions .009 P .001, respectively), whereas Ki-67 expressions < .000 .026, respectively). Within studied attributes tumor behavior, accentuated overall indicated that BCCs surmount ABs by proliferative rate only.
