Rethinking Buffer Operations in a Dual-Store Framework

摘要: Atkinson and Shiffrin's (1968) dual-store model of memory includes a structural store along with control processes conceptualized as rehearsal buffer. I present variant Shiffrin’s buffer within global framework that accounts for findings previously thought to be difficult it explain. This assumes limited capacity where information is stored about items, associations between items the context in which they are studied.
