摘要: ABSTRACTBiodiesel was developed from a non-edible oil source, i.e., wild mustard (Brassica juncea L) through optimized alkali-catalyzed transesterification with methanol using potassium hydroxide as catalyst. Biodiesel yield of (95.54 % 96.72 w/w ester content) obtained under optimal conditions 0.75 KOH oil, 6:1 to molar ratio, 60°C temperature, and duration 45 min. Properties biodiesel were determined found be within the limits ASTM D6751 specifications. As result, L), an agricultural crop, might reasonable feedstock for production.
