摘要: Angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels are formed from preexisting vessels, is essential for growth and progression of solid tumors. A number factors regulate angiogenesis, but vascular endothelial factor (VEGF) most important. Activation VEGF pathway triggers a range signaling processes, stimulating cell growth, migration, survival, permeability. expressed human cancers its expression often correlates with tumor poor prognosis. In contrast, plays limited role in adult physiological making it an ideal target therapeutic agents designed to inhibit angiogenesis. Disruption can occur through inhibition ligand or receptors, preclinical models have shown that receptors viable targets antiangiogenic agents.
