摘要: Rationale and Objectives Cross-sectional imaging is being increasingly proposed as a suitable tool to characterize carotid plaques. The aim of this work was correlate the Doppler velocity parameters with cross-sectional percent stenosis (CPoS) internal artery (ICA) identify cutoff values these in five progressive classes area severity (ie, 40%–49%, 50%–59%, 60%–69%, 70%–79%, 80%–90%). Materials Methods High-quality scans from 90 patients (mean age, 74 ± 9 years) 43%–90% ICA were analyzed. peak-systolic (PSV) end-diastolic (EDV) velocities measured at maximum level. Total residual lumen (RL) derive CPoS. A simple physical model described by equation Velocity=Flow rate/Area considered. Effectively, CPoS expected negatively inverse parameters, assuming flow rate be constant. Multiple stepwise regression analyses used investigate relationships between echographic measures. Results With dependent variable, first significant regressor ICA-EDV ( r 2 = 0.64; P 0.43; Conclusion parameter that better correlates Nevertheless, ICA-PSV maintained highly correlation Moreover, categorization could provide physicians an easily accessible clinical practice, complementary morphological evaluation stenosis.
