The Cepheid Distance Scale: Recent Progress In Fundamental Techniques

摘要: This review examines progress on the Pop I, fundamental‐mode Cepheid distance scale with emphasis recent developments in geometric and quasi‐geometric techniques for determination. Specifically I examine surface brightness method, interferometric pulsation trigonometric measurements. The three are found to be excellent agreement measures Galaxy. velocity p‐factor is of crucial importance first two these methods. A comparison determinations Cepheids demonstrates that observational p theoretical predictions agree within their uncertainties Galactic Cepheids.
