摘要: Plasmodium falciparum is an intracellular parasite of human red blood cells (RBCs). Like many other parasites, P. resides and develops within a parasitophorous vacuole which bound by membrane that separates the host cell cytoplasm from surface. Some proteins are secreted into vacuolar space others secreted, as yet poorly defined pathway, RBC cytosol. The transport has been followed mainly using morphological methods. In search experimental system would allow (i) dissection individual steps involved in surface cytosol, (ii) assessment molecular requirements for process at erythrocytic side membrane, we permeabilized infected RBCs with pore-forming protein streptolysin O conditions left intact. distribution two served markers cytosol respectively was analysed morphologically biochemically. marker were sorted to same compartments intact RBCs. destined traversed before it translocated across membrane.
