Reflections on Vocabulary Size of Chinese University Students.

摘要: College English teaching in China aims at developing students’ communicative competence, which vocabulary size plays an important role. According to Basic Requirements the Syllabus (1999), Chinese university should be 4,200 words. From investigation and a study of research literature, author finds that deficiency lies its small due very few words students absorb each period class both universities high schools as well how intensive reading classes are taught universities. The argues has become hindrance for inputting outputting information enlarge is therefore critical China. paper concludes with suggestions dealing this issue from macro micro point view.
