摘要: Aim of the study was analysis cytokine expression in ankle osteoarthritis (OA) hypothesizing age-dependent regulation patterns. Forty-nine patients undergoing an arthroscopy with different stages chronic OA were prospectively included a clinical trial comparing group <18 years (n = 9, O15.1 ± 2.0 years) older (≥18 years, n = 40, O36.5 ± 11.9). Lavage fluids analysed by ELISA for levels aggrecan, BMP-2/7, IGF-1/R, bFGF, CD105, MMP-13, and IL-1β. Additionally, parameters scores (FFI, CFSS, AOFAS) evaluated supplemented radiographic [Kellgren–Lawrence Score (KLS) conventional X-rays, Ankle Osteoarthritis Scoring System (AOSS) MRI]. In contrast to distribution gender BMI (p < 0.005), characterizing cartilage defect as ICRS grading, size, duration symptoms not dependent on age. The incidence osteochondritis dissecans (OCD) higher (p < 0.006), but average degree OCD grading different. KLS AOSS significantly ≥18 years (p < 0.02). Correlating elderly, function measured FFI AOFAS statistically worse (p < 0.05). Intra-articular concentrations aggrecan (3.1-fold), bFGF (8.7-fold), BMP-7 (2.7-fold), CD105 (1.5-fold) group ≥18 years (p < 0.03). Confirming hypothesis, increased synovial BMP-7, found over 18 years. This correlated stage determined changes or deteriorated may offer starting points new diagnostics interventional strategies.
