Study on Graphite-Electrode Gas Switch Applied for Pulsed Power Supply With a 700-kA Peak Current

摘要: A 700-kA gas switch with graphite electrodes for pulsed power supply module has been developed. This paper describes the design, construction, and testing of high-current its trigger system. The two-electrode is selected, which suffers high peak fast rise time currents. generator based on resonant charging a pulse transformer constructed to spark. An electrodynamic force model established. connecting wires also calculated. By comparison mechanical strengths polyformaldehyde, epoxy, fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) rods, where FRP rods are selected as experimental results show that strength increases by 200%. Extensive electric proven operating parameters measured discharge current waveform demonstrated be over 500- $\mu \text{s}$ pulsewidth. transfer charge per shot more than 500 C.
