摘要: Randomized controlled studies were reviewed to assess the effectiveness and safety of antiemetics used for prophylaxis in paediatric strabismus surgery. Early late vomiting (6 48 h after operation, respectively), adverse effects evaluated using numbers-needed-to-treat method. In 27 reports with information on 2033 children, mean incidence early was 54% 59%, without prophylaxis. Only three drugs studied sufficiently firm conclusions be drawn. best documented regimen (droperidol 75 micrograms kg-1), four children have given drug prevent one vomiting; others, may vomit two would not vomited anyway; fewer than child 100 an extrapyramidal reaction 16 minor effects. Metoclopramide 0.15 0.25 mg kg-1 significantly better control only vomiting. Propofol had a high oculocardiac reflex conferring any significant antiemetic effect: it should used. The benefits prophylactic therapy are proven.
