摘要: Purpose: Vitamin D Deficiency is common, particularly in northern latitudes. We examined the association between vitamin status and hypertension late pregnancy. Methods: A case-control study was conducted during two time periods: September-October, 2008, January-March, 2009, women near term. case defined as having or more documented blood pressure readings above 140/90 (either/or) at any pregnancy (n=78). Controls had least readings, with none (n=109). Serum 25-hydroxyvitamin (25(OH)D) measured all participants. Results: In summer, 13% of controls 29% cases 25(OH) levels < 50 nmol/L. During winter, these numbers rose to 44% 49% respectively. Both were likely be deficient winter (p=0.002). There a negative correlation BMI 25(OH)D (r=-0.202, p=0.002). univariate analysis, lower (p=0.046), but also higher body mass index, so that multivariate analysis no longer significant. difference mean oral daily intake (dietary supplements, 746 785 IU respectively). gained less weight highest (r= -0.118; p=0.012). Conclusion: high prevalence deficiency pregnant recruited Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Women low circulating concentrations are have hypertension.
