Synthesis and characterization of oligo- and crown ether-substituted polythiophenes-a comparative study

摘要: The synthesis of two series thiophenes substituted with crown and oligoether groups either via isolating oxaalkyl chains (2, 7-11) or in direct π-conjugation (4, 12-15) is described. Electrooxidative polymerization leads to the corresponding oligoether-functionalized polythiophenes P2, P7-P11, P4, P12, respectively. Their electrochemical spectroscopic properties depend on length spacer type ether unit. polymers reveal a high mean conjugation. A specific strong influence alkali ions behavior found for several polymers. selectivities correspond match cation size without solvent shell inner diameter units. Spectroelectrochemical experiments corroborate that changes redox are due hindered diffusion counter anions into film when polymer oxidized. Due structural variation novel materials sensitive different cations obtained. Importantly, these conjugated chemical information which corresponds selective host-guest interaction metal units transduced change an electrical signal.
