摘要: Requiring active consent from parents leads to different self-reports by adolescents than when it is not required. The present study compares self-reported demographic, psychosocial, and behavior variables between those students whom was obtained. As found in previous studies, fewer minorities, persons who were dissatisfied with school, whose of lower educational levels, cigarette smokers represented the sample recruited parental consent. Extending on work, we failed respond procedure less likely live both parents, more be latch-key children, placed a priority health, higher risk-taking, self-esteem, assertiveness had responded. These data further support suggestion that children are omitted research because lack action part parent at risk for number health social problems. need included evaluation samples order accurately assess effectiveness prevention programming. Future studies should employ passive as means recruiting representative subject pool school-based research.
