摘要: To assist breeding for increased resistance to root lodging in maize, an attempt was made identify genes that are associated with by profiling mRNA expression from two inbreds contrasting root-related traits. These were derived a common F 2 pool, selfed several generations and showed 75% relatedness based on 106 genetic markers. Under field conditions, the exhibited significant differences morphology lodging. Whole tissue collected at developmental stages inbred 100 101 grown years. RNA isolated both V8 V12 stages, few weeks prior flowering. The samples 1997 growing season analysed GeneCalling analysis, open-ended method. From over 13500 cDNA fragments detected each of V8- V12-stage samples, 229 325 fragments, respectively, greater than 2-fold between lines. A total 69 or lines observed stages. gene identity determined confirmed gel blot analysis. Two out five identified homologous cytochrome P450 impedance-induced protein, showing high levels roots resistant low sensitive data provide first clues expressed during formative development root-lodging resistance.
