摘要: Closed-heart mitral commissurotomies followed later by open-heart and valve replacements were the most frequent procedures from 1950s to 1970s. Aortic surgery gradually has become more procedure number of slowly decreased. Presently, operation for a rheumatic stenosis is relatively rare. Th e reason that becoming very rare in developed countries, when it does occur, patients who formerly candidates surgical commissurotomy are now treated percutaneous balloon valvuloplasty. Only few do not meet echocardiographic criteria intervention, because heavy calcifi cations and/or coexistent incompetence, indicated treatment. Nevertheless, been constantly developing, due mainly increasing need treatment signifi cant regurgitation. etiology regurgitation predominantly degenerative or ischemic, majority these valves eligible repair.
