摘要: The increase in Eurasian otter Lutra lutra populations their natural range and recolonization processes are recently observed several European countries. We address the process of habitat utilization Central Poland over 14 years. Field surveys 1998 2007 documented occurrence species. frequency positive sites denoted 15 % 1993, 38 % 1998, 89 % 2007. Otter at study was positively affected by river width while negatively presence buildings site regulation. During most intensive colonization 1990s, preferences did not change. However, inhabited otters after were characterized lower tree cover more often located on regulated sections, suggesting change tolerance during expansion. abundance transformed habitats is a result increasing population numbers necessity to inhabit suboptimal sections watercourses. Thus, it seems that presence–absence data for cannot be considered reliable indicator quality, being depended density.
