摘要: SUMMARY Four cationic copper phthalocyanin dyes are compared with Alcian Blue 8G for specificity of interaction a range natural and synthetic polyanions. The CEC system is used to estimate dye-substrate affinities. The results support the hypothesis that tissue staining pattern determined by (a) exclusion dye from polynucleotide stacked base pairs steric hindrance due bulky substituents on chromophore (b) presence pendant quaternary charges whose affinity negative sites polyanionic substrates without regard precise chemical nature anion. These conclusions, practical considerations lead choice quaternized Astra 6GLL as replacement (now no longer manufactured). It superior in pH range, stability solution. It easily prepared readily available precursor.
