Individual, social, and environmental factors for infection risk among home healthcare patients: A multi‐method study

摘要: There has been limited research into the individual, social, and environmental factors for infection risk among patients in home healthcare (HHC) setting, where is a leading cause of hospitalisation. The aims this study were to (1) explore nurse perceptions HHC patients; (2) identify frequency barriers prevention control HHC. Data collected 2017-2018 included qualitative interviews with nurses (n = 50) structured observations visits patients' homes 400). Thematic analyses suggested they perceived as being influenced by knowledge attitudes towards engagement hygiene practices, receipt support from informal caregivers interventions aimed at cultivating environment. Statistical observation checklists revealed encountered an average 1.7 upon each visit. Frequent observed during clutter (39.5%), poor lighting (38.8%), dirtiness (28.5%), pets (17.2%).
