摘要: Oral squamous cell carcinomas comprise 2-3% of all new malignancies diagnosed in the United States, making it 10th most common malignancy. However, for last few decades, average five-year survival rate 50% has not changed significantly. This article reviews risk factors associated with development oral cancer and how premalignant (leukoplakia erythroplakia) actual cancerous lesions may appear. Diagnostic tools aids to diagnosis are discussed, as treatment modalities.
