摘要: Olfactory cues are important in mating many species, including humans. These odorants may be relevant because of their value as a cue to the reproductive fitness potential mate (Trivers 1972), but they could also signal appropriateness terms sexual preference (Lubke and Pause 2015). One way discriminate between these ideas is examine whether importance olfaction determining decreased homosexual individuals, for whom selecting dissociated from selection partner. The present research question asked olfactory attraction varies heterosexual groups. study examined odor by presenting Romantic Interest Survey (Herz Inzlich 2002) 453 individuals: 142 women, 161 men, 150 gay men. Regression analysis indicated that men valued sense smell when more than did. In contrast, sound partner’s voice did Heterosexual women not differ sex olfaction; both aspects highly. higher individuals supports idea act fitness, indicates information valuable selection. findings suggest people seem looking similar attributes searching romantic partner, an aspect process.
