摘要: Breast-conserving therapy (BCT) has become a standard treatment option for patients with early-stage breast cancer. We have observed cellulitis of the treated as complication occurring before, during, and after irradiation. The cases five women (median follow-up, 28 months; range, 24-65 months) who developed before (n = 1), during 2), or 2) irradiation were reviewed. A consecutive series BCT at Emory University was reviewed to determine incidence this complication. Four had an axillary dissection, yielding median 14 negative lymph nodes (range, 6-22 nodes). Two four seromas requiring aspiration. In these patients, only irradiated. fifth patient no dissection supraclavicular/axillary whole dose 50 Gy 46-50.4 Gy). clinical features included erythema, edema, tenderness, warmth in all patients. Cellulitis relapsing problem our approximately 1%. ipsilateral can be seen Axillary aspiration seem indicate subset risk early cellulitis. Late may caused by variety factors related modifications vascular skin integrity surgery radiotherapy. Prompt diagnosis appropriate antibiotic is recommended. This need not interrupt course irradiation, does necessarily lead poor cosmetic result.
