摘要: There has been a recent resurgence of interest in investigative roentgenography. Bender and Seltzer1 showed that intrabony lesions often may not be detected roentgenographically unless there is per foration or considerable resorption the overlying cortical bone. They also pointed out extensive bone dis ease without roentgenographic evidence. The findings Shackman Harrison2 confirm this, as they were able to demon strate microscopically visible but roent genographically invisible metastases vertebrae long bones. Goldman, Millsap, Brenman,3 1957, removed entire buccal lingual plates jaw bones concluded “ . only density radiograph was affected when removed.” Limited observations peri apical pathoses studied roentgenographi cally made by Kronfeld.4 Perhaps most complete account oral pathosis found cadavers recorded Thoma 1918.5 He pre sented photographs several cadaver specimens with resulting from chronic periapical periodontal infection.
