摘要: As defense budgets are reduced, military aircraft being flown well beyond their expected lifetimes. An example of this is the Boeing B-52 bomber. Introduced in 1954, still one Air Force’s primary bomber aircraft, as evidenced Desert Storm. Currently, it to fly until year 2024, past original design goal. Because extended duty, fatigue crack growth airframe has become a concern, and methods detect these defects implemented.
