摘要: Between 1986 and 1996, 263 patients, 156 females 107 males, affected by oral lichen planus (OLP), were followed at the Division of Oral Medicine Pathology, University Naples 'Federico II', Italy, Institute Dentistry Maxillofacial Surgery, Bari, Italy. During this follow-up, possible association OLP with squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), together OLP, SCC chronic HCV-hepatitis, investigated. 14 cases (5.32%) known to have developed SCC: 10 (3.8%) in an area pre-existing 3 (1.14%) other sites, 1 case diagnosis was synchronous (0.38%). patients positive for anti-HCV antibody. Many carcinomas areas reticular/plaque OLP. had multiple simultaneous sites involvement (21.42%); 5 different during follow-up period (35.71%). These data, a clear histological evidence progression within lesions, suggest probability some least having intrinsic property predisposing neoplastic transformation, confirming previous studies. For these reasons, authors think that it is necessary regularly annually possibly life early degeneration. consideration are particularly important atrophic or erosive plaque especially when involving dorsum tongue.
