摘要: OBJECTIVE To determine whether horses with summer pasture-associated obstructive pulmonary disease (SPAOPD) have increased concentrations of antigen-specific IgG and IgE in tracheal lavage fluid, compared values clinically normal horses. ANIMALS 8 (6 females, 2 geldings; 6 Quarter Horses, Appaloosas), 14 to 23 years old previous diagnosis SPAOPD, served as the principal group; (2 1 Horse, 7 Thoroughbreds), 9 old, no evidence respiratory tract disease, control group. PROCEDURE Data were collected twice during a 1-year period: when all SPAOPD-affected manifesting clinical signs (July), appeared (February). On each occasion, evaluations performed blood fluid samples collected. Transtracheal supernatant was evaluated for mold concentrations. RESULTS Median relative antibody unit (RAU) significantly higher control, principal, The had specific only antigen, winter sample collection. CONCLUSION Antigen-specific RAU not these disease.
