摘要: This article reports the development and psychometric properties of 12-item Encouragement Character Strength Scale (ECSS), a measure character strength encouragement using diverse samples (e.g., noncollege adults, Latinx-majority college students, psychotherapists). The is enjoyment perceived ability to express affirmations motivate others. relevant counseling psychology because latter's historical embrace human strengths encouragement's importance in many applications, such as psychotherapy supervision. Bifactor modeling provided evidence for general factor measurement invariance across race gender. Ancillary bifactor indices suggest that ECSS should be treated unidimensional measure. Criterion-related validity was demonstrated through positive correlations with secure attachment, generativity, empathy, kindness, optimism, social connectedness, personality traits agreeableness extraversion, psychological well-being, strength-based focus (for therapists).
