摘要: BACKGROUND Mechanics are at higher risk to develop occupational skin diseases from exposure irritants, oils, greases, preservatives, and metals. AIMS The aim of the study was investigate contact dermatitis in mechanics who underwent patch test Northeastern Italy compare them with white-collar workers (WCW). SUBJECTS AND METHODS From 1996 2016, 27,381 patients suspected allergic were tested Italy; this group, 1270 studied. Odds ratios (ORs) 95% confidence interval (CI), adjusted by age sex, calculated assuming WCW as reference category (n = 6933). RESULTS represented 4.6% population tested. Their mean ± SD 36.1 11.2 years. Compared WCW, they found have an increased (OR 14.4; CI 11.6-18) hand/forearm 2.5; 2.3-2.9). They presented sensitization epoxy resin 2.7; 1.5-4.8), thiurams 2.4; 1.5-3.8), 2-mercaptobenzothiazole 1.9; 1.1-3.4), diaminodiphenylmethane 1.7; 1.1-2.5). CONCLUSIONS be dermatitis, associated mainly rubber accelerators.
