摘要: Diabetes mellitus (DM) involves metabolic changes that can impair bone repair, including a prolonged inflammatory response. A salicylic acid-based poly(anhydride-ester) (SA-PAE) provides controlled and sustained release of acid (SA) locally resolves inflammation. This study investigates the effect polymer-controlled SA on regeneration in diabetic rats where enhanced inflammation is expected. Fifty-six Sprague-Dawley were randomly assigned to two groups: group induced by streptozotocin (STZ) injection or normoglycemic controls injected with citrate buffer alone. Three weeks after hyperglycemia development vehicle injection, 5mm critical sized defects created at rat mandibular angle treated SA-PAE/bone graft mixture Rats euthanized 4 12weeks surgery, then fill percentage defect region was assessed micro-computed tomography (CT) histomorphometry. It observed increased significantly graft-treated compared receiving Accelerated formation caused treatment 4weeks but not 12weeks. shows SA-PAE enhances accelerates animals.
