摘要: Objective/Background: Delayed post-hypoxic leukoencephalopathy is a rare condition marked by the development of neuropsychiatric symptoms, parkinsonism and akinetic mutism days to weeks after an individual has recovered from prolonged cerebral hypoxic event. This syndrome can cause significant long-term neurologic dysfunction. At present there are no acute treatment strategies that have been identified shown alter natural course this disorder. In most instances all be offered patients early supportive care then subsequent rehabilitation services. Methods: Case Report. Results: A patient presented who developed new onset encephalopathy, extrapyramidal symptoms three being discharged for respiratory arrest drug overdose. MRI showed extensive white matter bilateral globus pallidus lesions. She had rapid resolution with intravenous magnesium sulfate as well improvement in her other associated symptoms. Conclusion: Thecase report suggests use anacute mutismasso- ciated delayed leukoencephalopathy. addition it also may improve syndrome. first potential condition.
