摘要: Objective To assess distribution, uptake, and persistence of radiolabeled mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) using scintigraphy after intravenous regional limb perfusion (RLP) subcutaneous injections in standing, sedated horses. Study Design Experimental study. Animals Horses (n = 12). Methods Six horses had RLP performed through the cephalic vein on 1 injection metacarpal area opposite limb. The other 6 lateral palmar digital coronary band. A pneumatic tourniquet was used for RLP. MSC were labeled with technetium-HMPAO. Scintigraphic images obtained at time injection, 1, 6, 24 hours later. Results compared results from previous studies where similar anesthetized horses. Results Both techniques led to greater variability, lower persistence, poorer distribution when previously reported under general anesthesia. band resulted loss circulation but no evidence local migration. Conclusion Due partial or complete failure tourniquet, standing horse as described is less efficient than Further work needed optimize use tourniquets perform administration patients. did not result migration these normal horses.
