摘要: The marine diatom genus Pseudo-nitzschia, the major known producer of neurotoxin domoic acid (DA) responsible for amnesic shellfish poisoning (ASP) syndrome in humans and mammals, is globally distributed. presents high species richness Argentine Sea DA has been frequently detected last few years plankton samples, but identity producers remains unclear. In present work, distribution abundance Pseudo-nitzschia were determined from samples collected on two oceanographic cruises carried out through (∼39–47°S) during summer spring 2013. Phytoplankton composition was analysed by light electron microscopy while liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS). recorded 71 86% spring, respectively, whereas only 42 21% respectively. Microscopic analyses revealed at least five potentially toxic (P. australis, P. brasiliana, fraudulenta, pungens, turgidula), plus putatively non-toxigenic dolorosa, lineola, turgiduloides unidentified specimens pseudodelicatissima complex. australis showed highest correlation with occurrence (r = 0.55; p < 0.05), suggesting its importance as a Sea. northern area summer, associated presence first time By contrast, concentrations pungens turgidula did not correspond occurrence. This study represents successful attempt link toxigenicity diversity cell field populations south-western Atlantic.
