摘要: Advancements in the technical aspects of tendon repair have significantly improved treatment injuries. Arthroscopic techniques, suture material, and rehabilitation all been contributing factors. Biological augmentation tissue engineering appear to potential improve clinical outcomes as well. After review physiology repair, three critical components can be discerned: cellular component, carrier vehicle (matrix or scaffold), bioactive component (growth factors, platelet rich plasma). These are discussed with regard each types: Intra-synovial (flexor tendon), extra-synovial (Achilles under compression (rotator cuff). Scaffolds, biologically enhanced scaffolds, growth plasma, gene therapy, mesenchymal stem cells, local environment factors combination alone may contribute healing. In future it beneficial differentiate these modes healing subtype.
