摘要: CEA plasma levels obtained prior to definitive surgery in patients with colorectal cancer our hands have predictive ability. An elevated greater than 2.5 ng/ml recorded by laboratory means an increased risk of subsequent local recurrence or later metastatic disease. The question as whether not this is additive a prognostic variable when tested against careful histopathological staging remains. As monitor, will detect recurrence. Again, the problem how accurate If we use two consecutive elevations criteria, encounter about 15% false positives which must be weighed finding disease significantly earlier one-third followed. Our data for second-look procedures indicate clearly that used laparotomy may useful and further studies showed presence 11 14 elevation following tests were ng/ml. Two operable. significance these findings described.
