摘要: Abstract The role of progesterone (P) as an androgen antagonist in Mongolian gerbil territorial marking was assessed the present investigation. Twenty-seven mature males were observed for two consecutive weeks a apparatus. On basis average sessions, subjects matched and assigned to one three groups. All animals orchidectomized tested after surgery. Three days single postoperative session schedule hormonal replacement initiated. Group 1 administered 640 μg testosterone propionate (TP). 2 received TP followed immediately by 3 mg P. A third group injection Subjects 24 hr cumulative period 6 wk. Results indicated that (a) castration drastically reduced marking; (b) alone + P restored behavior; (c) inhibited its restoration; (d) significant interaction between therapy 6-wk testing interval. However, all treatments sebaceous gland dimensions. are discussed terms model hormone-gene action.
