Towards a smarter hybrid energy storage system based on battery and ultracapacitor - A critical review on topology and energy management

摘要: Abstract Hybrid Energy Storage System (HESS) can well solve the problems faced by alternative single energy storage system in terms of meeting needs high specific power and simultaneously for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). A HESS containing battery ultracapacitor (UC) has drawn much attention. However, there have been relatively few reviews on its structures management strategies (EMSs). Based summary analysis from existing publications, this paper discusses EMSs HESSs comprised UC. Focusing research, a detailed discussion rules-based control algorithms, optimization-based algorithms intelligent-based is presented. Several typical implementations applications are presented detail, comparative evaluation these methods help researchers select appropriate method to develop HESSs. Finally, also highlights number key factors challenges, presents possible recommendations development big data machine learning-based algorithm
