摘要: Membrane permeability to the non-electrolyte probes urea and thiourea was measured in a population of differentiating bone marrow precursor cells (Cicoria Hempling, '80). The phenomenologic equations Kedem Katchalsky ('58) were applied. cells, which can be separated by velocity sedimentation, examined over maturation range 400 1,000 cubic micra. Several membrane properties observed: 1) Solute (omega RT) increased linearly as cell volume increased, while reflection coefficients (sigma) remained constant. 2) significantly greater than thiourea; however, their respective sigmas did not differ significantly. independent sigma at 22 degrees C. 3) In two phases observed, omega RT varied directly with osmotically active water. 4) has provided information on characteristics pathways used for water non-electrolytes, well description events accompanying cellular maturation.
