摘要: The sensitivity of a one-way nested regional climate model (RCM) to the spatial and temporal levels information provided at its lateral boundaries is studied. To unambiguously address these two issues, perfect-prognosis approach called Big-Brother Experiment (BBE) employed. It consists in first establishing reference simulation (called Big Brother) over large domain then using simulated data for nesting another RCM Little integrated smaller domain. effect degrading resolution boundary conditions (LBC), spatially temporally, investigated by comparing big- little-brother statistics total fine-scale components fields, as well their stationary transient components. Within BBE framework 45-km grid-point RCM, it found that gives satisfactory results most fields studied when resolutions degraded up factor 12 are imposed between Brother. For LBC update interval, h appears be upper limit, while little difference intervals 3 6 h.
