摘要: Information is required on nitrogen (N) fertih'ty and seedpiece management for new cultivars advanced breeding lines. Interactions amongst N fertilizer rate, genotype, spacing are complex, can affect tuber yield, quality, storability as well efficiency. A field study was carried out in 2001 2002 at MSU Montcalm Research Farm central Michigan. Tuber yields post-harvest quality characteristics were evaluated five potato genotypes (MSG227-2, MSEI92-8Rus, Jacqueline Lee, Liberator, Snowden) response to a factorial combination of three levels (200 kg ha -~, 300 -1, 400 -~) two spacings, narrow (0.20 m or 0.25 m) wide (0.33 0.38 m). Narrow consistently produced the highest U.S. No. 1 all tested (37 34 t -t, vs spacing, respectively). There tradeoff between level enhanced by higher but not spacing. In 2002, yield enhanced, petiole nitrate-N tuber-N increased fertilization increased. Genotype major factor that influenced harvest stored tubers (e.g., specific gravity, internal defects, bruising, chip color rating, sucrose, glucose). Spacing had minimal effects, whereas slightly reduced gravity both years, defects sucrose 2002. The demonstrated excellent storage different fertility combinations. Overall, recommended moderately longduration Michigan optimized performance while conserving fertilizer.
