摘要: Lactoferrin was first discovered in bovine milk 19391. It later found high concentration human milk2. is a glycoprotein with molecular weight of 78,000 and has the capacity to bind two ferric ions concomitant bicarbonate or carbonate ions. The primary structure3 as well glycan structure4 have been documented tertiary structure elucidated by X-ray crystallography5. protein consists lobes, each binding one iron atom having glycan; because similarity between molecule believed be result an early gene duplication3. sometimes referred lactotransferrin3,4. However, even if lactoferrin transferrin some similar physicochemical properties, they are products different genes their biological functions different.
